چکیده

A projectile accelerated by the Hayabusa2 Small Carry-on Impactor successfully produced an artificial impact crater with a final apparent diameter of 14.5 ± 0.8 m on surface near-Earth asteroid 162173 Ryugu April 5, 2019. At time cratering, Deployable Camera 3 took clear time-lapse images ejecta curtain, assemblage ejected particles forming curtain-like structure emerging from crater. Focusing optical depth curtain and comparing it theoretical model, we infer size particles. As result, typical is estimated to be several centimeters decimeters, although slightly depends assumed distribution. Since are expected come down ~1 m, our result suggests that subsurface layer composed relatively small compared uppermost which observe many meter-sized boulders. Our also deficit less than mm in layer. These findings will play key role revealing formation evolution process other Solar System bodies.

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

Determining the Main Belt Size Distribution Using Asteroid Crater Records and Crater Saturation

Motivation. The cratered surfaces of asteroids imaged by spacecraft (e.g., Gaspra, Eros, Ida, Mathilde), if properly interpreted, provide critical constraints that can be used to (i) determine how the main belt size frequency distribution (SFD) has evolved over Solar System history and (ii) glean insights into the physical nature of the asteroids themselves. A serious problem, however, is that ...

Lunar Meteorite Source Crater Size: Constraints from Impact Simulations

Hydrocode simulations of lunar impact events show that craters as small as 450 meters in diameter are viable candidates for the source of most lunar meteorites. The lunar cratering flux implies that 6 impact events of this size occurred on the moon in the last 0.1 Ma. This is in good agreement with the number of impacts (7) inferred from the geochemical analysis of the samples in hand. The resu...

The Large Crater on Asteroid Steins: Is It Abnormally Large?

Introduction: The Rosetta mission to comet 67/P Churyumov-Gerasimenko is also scheduled to do two asteroid fly bys. The first of these was on Sept. 5 th , 2008, when the spacecraft flew within 800 km of asteroid 2867 Steins. The timing of the encounter meant that the surface of the asteroid (as seen from the spacecraft) was well illuminated, providing good imaging conditions. As well as providi...
